INK IN THE PEN

They say life is kind, some says life is hard, while some says life is sweet, others says life is hard!.

There are different definition of life to every individuals, different thought about life, different perspective of life.

Life is like an Ink Pen; The pen case is the body, while the Ink is the blood, the person holding the Pen is the Soul. Who is the Soul of the Pen? The writer is just absolutely the Soul of the Ink.
Life is like an Ink, the more the writer holds on to the Pen and write, the faster the life of the Ink depreciate.

The only way the Ink doesn't depreciate is when the writer doesn't write. When the writer write the Ink transist to the world of Ink in the book. When the Ink is empty in the Pen the writer throws it away, which equally mean that the Pen is no longer useful. “The Ink is the Pen, the Pen is the Ink".
Ink is Pen

Without the Ink there's no Pen, without Pen there's no Ink.
Everyone has expiring date in this life Irrespective of who you are; When it's your time to expire it comes like a flash!

Putting the wright legacy, Impacting peoples life and the world will determine the kind of life you have lived.
Refuse mental hobo

Refuse to be a mental hobo, The seed you sow determines the fruit you reap.

One thing we should understand as adults is that the definition of Adulthood is Responsibility.

As Adult you are to take responsibility of your needs, take responsibility of yourself, take responsibility of your family, take responsibility of your business, take responsibility of your husband, take responsibility of your children, take responsibility of your words, take responsibility of the future.

NEW MARK

The year is not new without approaching it with a new mentality, ideas, attitude, behavior, character and a new plan to make change and a difference.

This is a new season that required a new reason for we to have a new meaning,  It's not new if we can't reason to give a new meaning to this new season.

Yeah! is a New Year and if you're here you will feel the bird singing a new song to your ears, so pay attention and listen don't just hear but understand song,  dance and rejoice because its a New Year.

Think about last season and recommend for yourself a good reason to matter this new season.

This year is going to be so great for me,  no more miscellaneous blessing because i have gotten my master key to open every door of success,  achievement and overwhelming riches from high places.
I shall matter no matter the matter, I am the new celebrity of the year 2020 and the only choice you all have is to celebrate me to greatness from glory to glory.

Amen

This to you that Believe you're  a new mark.

Message from Chris INSP & MOTI.

Peace out.

Life time

Sometimes in lifetime, life can be a Rush hour and can be slower.

Sometimes when you are slow in life doesn't mean you are slow in everything you do.

A snails may take hours to his destination to achieve his purpose, that doesn't mean it wouldn't get to his destination because he is slow.
The point am making is that because the snail is small and craw slowly doesn't matter.

What matters most is that the snail is focus to where his destination is.

So how we think or where our thinking is or our focus depend on our direction.

Even if we have a world of ordinary people, their will be other people that are extra ordinary people that does extra ordinary things in life.

Sometimes life doesn't treat you right even when it seems like it does.

You may have the money, exhaustic cars, mansions, beautiful wives, lovely kids, companies and etc.

What if the life you have is miserable to you despite all that you have?

It takes the God's grace for a man with a heart of gold to live a life of grace.

Grace may abounds but if you didn't see the abundant of grace that means you are blind in the life full of grace

Life is all about withholding nothing.
Everything you have is came from someone (God) you may think you have work hard to achieve everything or everything you have achieved is as a result of your hard work.

Their are so many people that work 24hrs but they don't have or have not achieved anything but that doesn't mean they are lazy, its just that their appointment time is just behind.

Fear

FEAR KILLS BEFORE WE DIE

Fear is the unreal reality that cripples every real ability that can make difference in a man.

The fear we have and the fear that have us imprison and the other kills.

The fear we have is the kind of a tender threat of fear which with time stands at a rock too big for us to move as we nurture them with acceptance and ignorance.
Wen we have been too long in this kind of fearful limitations it makes us captive and have us to itself totally paralyzing all our abilities to fight back, till it kills us away from what we really are.

The fear that have a man to itself is the greatest enemy of a man.
Fear is dead, not real but it kills the unreal cos fear is real in them and lead the unreal dead to death after making them a walking dead .

If fear is unreal and dead how can it be so real and still have us to itself?

The reality of the existence of fear is interpreted in the ones who accommodate it in ignorance and in laziness, and as far as we have fear in any form it will always be real to us and control our limited boundaries.

Only one fear we can have and can also have us that will give us life and strength to face the unreal fear in the world,
The fear of the Creator who is our source and salvation,  the fear of the almighty God,  the fear which the Bible say it's the beginning of all wisdom.

Out of him we are created and only in Him we can be redeem.

May God bless us with the knowledge to fear Him in and through His word.

Chris motivation and inspiration.

Peace out.

Uhonmora school cry for help

Today we shall be talking about one of the commercial school in Uhonmora in Owan West local government area of Edo State.

Uhonmora Secondary Commercial School, in Owan West Local Govt., Area of Edo State was founded in 1979. The school have since produced well meaning individuals, scholars and professionals in all facets of Nigeria's national life.

THE late Pa Jonathan Asijie Aidokhai (Boy O Boy) was born on July 18, 1935 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Eimi Aidokhai of Uhonmora – Ora, Owan West local council of Edo State.
As a man deeply convinced about the importance of education, he initiated steps that led to the establishment of Uhonmora Secondary Commercial School in 1979.
Pa  Jonathan Asijie Aidokhai

Today the said Uhonmora Secondary commercial school that was built through community effort and later handed over to the government has become a "tourist attraction and water fall".

Today Nigeria is celebrating her 59 independent and Uhonmora secondary school is celebrating waterfall in her class rooms. I do not understand the fact if we are celebrating our 59 years of lack of maintenance, lack of infrastructure, bad roads or rejoice that the future of the young ones in the class room have become waterfall.

We plead to the ministry of education to look in to this and help the future of the student and also the people of Owan West.

9. Ga tribe of present day Ghana migrated from Benin during Oba Udagbedo's reign (1299-1334)
10. Oduduwa was the exiled crowned prince from Benin known as Ekaladerhan, which is being purported as the progenitor of the Yoruba race.
11. The monarch of Warri kingdom is an off shoot of the royal house of Benin kingdom founded by prince Iginuwa the Son of Oba Olua in the 15th century.

There is no King thereabouts who, in the possession of so many beautiful cities and towns, in his capital – Olfert Dapper, description of Africa, 1668.
18. According to the Guinness Book of Records (1974 edition) described the walls of Benin City and its surrounding kingdom as the world’s largest earthworks carried out prior to the mechanical era.
19. According to estimates by the New Scientists Fred pearce, Benin City’s walls were at one point “four times longer than the great wall of China, and consumed a hundred times more material than the Great Pyramid of Cheops”
20. Benin City is surrounded by massive walls dug by Oba Oguola in 13th century and Oba Ewuare I in the 15th century.
21. Great Wall of Benin extended for some 16,000km in all, in a mosaic of more than 500 interconnected settlement boundaries. They covered 6, 500sq km and were all dug by the Edo people.

29. The Binis were the first to use sophisticated weapons (guns) to fight a war (Idah war) in the present day Nigeria in about 501 years ago (August, 1516), the war was led by Oba Esigie mother (Queen Idia). Supported by some Portuguese mercenaries.
30. All Obas in Lagos (Eko) were buried in their ancestral home (Benin City) until late 19th century. To lend credence to that, Oba Osemwende in 1834 instructed Idewu Ojulari, the Oba of Lagos to zegbele (kill himself). The instruction was, expectedly, complied with. The Lagos Oba complied by taking poison.

Contact and Connection

Morning Reflection

Contact and Connection

It was April 2009.   I was returning from Delhi by flight with a monk of the RamaKrishna Mission sitting next to me and a journalist from the US sitting on the third seat . The journalist started
interviewing  the monk as planned earlier.

Journalist - Sir , in your last lecture, you  told us about Jogajog ( contact ) &  Sanjog (connection ). It's really confusing. Can you explain ?

The Monk smiled and apparently deviating from the question asked the journalist: Are you from New York?

Journalist - Yeah...

Monk - Who are there at home ?

The Journalist felt that the  Monk was trying to avoid answering his question since  this was a very personal and unwarranted question. Yet the  journalist  said:    "Mother has expired. Father is there. Three brothers and one sister. All married..."

The Monk, with a smile on his  face,   asked again: - "Do you talk to your father?"

The  journalist looked visibly annoyed...

The Monk  - "When did you talk to him last?"

The journalist, suppressing his annoyance said:  "May be a month ago."

The Monk:  "Do you brothers and sisters meet often ? When did you meet last as a family gathering?"

At this point, I saw  sweat on the forehead ok the journalist. I wondered who was conducting the interview, the Monk or the Journalist. It seemed that the   Monk was interviewing the Journalist.

With a sigh , the Journalist said: "We met last at Christmas two  years  ago."

The Monk: " How many days did you all stay together ?"

The Journalist (wiping the sweat on his brow) said : "Three days..."

Monk: "How much time did you  spend with your Father, sitting right  beside him ?"

I saw the journalist looking  perplexed and embarrassed and scribbling something on a paper...

The Monk:  "Did you have breakfast, lunch or dinner together ? Did you ask how he was? Did you ask how his days are passing after your mother's death?"

I saw drops of tears coming out from the eyes of the journalist.

The Monk held the hand of the journalist and said: "Don't be embrassed, upset or sad. I am sorry if I have hurt you unknowingly... But this is basically the answer to your question about "contact and connection" "( jogajog and Sanjog)".  You have 'contact'  with your father but you don't have 'connection' with him. You are not connected to him. Connection is between heart and heart... sitting together, sharing meals and caring for  each other; touching, shaking hands, having eye contact,  spending some time together...You  brothers and sisters have 'contact' but you have no  'connection' with each other...."

The journalist wiped his eyes and said : "Thanks for teaching me a fine and unforgettable lesson"

This is the reality today.  Whether at home or in the society everybody has lots of contacts but there is no connection. No communication .... Everybody is in his or her own world.

Let us not maintain just "contacts" but let us remain "connected"; caring, sharing and spending time with all our dear ones.

PMB 2019 BUDGET

FULL SPEECH OF PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI AT THE 2019 BUDGET PRESENTATION.

December 19, 2018

This is my last Budget Speech to the 8th National Assembly.

“Today, we will review economic development over the last three-and-a-half years with emphasis on 2018. We will also highlight the budget for 2019.

“The last three-and-a-half years have been challenging both home and abroad. Both oil and non-oil markets have been volatile. There have been disruptions in oil production in the country.
President Buhari

However, we have cause to be optimistic about the future. The economy has recovered from recession. We have done more work with less resources in Agriculture, Social Development and Infrastructure.

We have intervened several times to support states in the payment of salaries. The Federal Government has also sustained its efforts to curb corruption through the comprehensive cooperation of the single treasury account.

We have also made efforts to end the insurgencies in affected areas of the country. We thank the Armed Forces and Security Agencies for their efforts and sacrifices in protecting the nation.

We have also made many efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in public service delivery. Inflation has declined from 18.2% in January to 11.28% in November. Foreign Capital Influence has also improved.

Trading is a significant contributor to our country’s economy. But we must strengthen other areas such as Information Technology and Entertainment; all hands must be on deck to ensure the country succeeds.
2019 Budget

In Agriculture, we are seeing increased investments in all areas of the sector. Indeed, we are on course to achieve good security in the nearest future.

We also prioritized the completion of already ongoing projects as opposed to starting new ones.

We have included the implementation for the National Minimum Wage. I will be sending a Bill to this National Assembly, on this.

To further support SME’s, we have set aside N15 billion, while the sum of N10 billion has been granted to BOI for this purpose.

We can all commit to the early passage of this Bill.

I thank you most sincerely for your attention. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

-Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR)

IGUE FESTIVAL IN EDO STATE

IGUE FESTIVAL IN EDO STATE OF NIGERIA

by Francis Omoruyi

The significance of IGUE festival/celebration to the Edo people in Nigeria (The descendants of Edo State). Christmas celebration coincides with Igue festival/celebration time, annually. Christmas is relatively recent in the Kingdom of Benin. The Igue festival started in the Kingdom of Benin by the great Oba (King) Ewuare (Ogidigan) meaning Oba (King) Ewuare the mystic, in 1440 AD.
Items used to celebrate igue festival

During king Ewuare's reign, there lived on the Benin-Ughoton road Ogieka (Chief of Eka Ward) who had three beautiful daughters Ubi, Ewere and Oyoyo. The news of these beautiful ladies reached the Oba (King) Ewuare in his palace. Ewuare asked Ogieka to marry his eldest daughter Ubi to him. Ogieka replied that Oba could not marry Ubi because she was too shrewish, disobedient and disrespectful. The chief would not be comfortable allowing Ubi to marry the Oba (king). He suggested that the second daughter Ewere would make a good wife and would earn respect that Queens deserve. The Oba (King) already had a number of queens in the palace.

Nevertheless the Oba (King) insisted that he would marry Ubi because she was the senior daughter and also she was very beautiful. Ubi was relunctant but had no choice. Willing or unwilling the chief of Eka (Ogieka) sent her to the palace to marry the Oba (King).

When she got to the harem in the palace, Ubi refused to cooperate with any one in the palace. She went on hunger strike and would not speak to anyone. The Oba (King) tried to encourage her. Ubi could not be tamed. The Oba (king) angrily ordered her to be sent out by the maids who struck her with burning pieces of firewood from under the cooking pot.

While they were pushing her out of the palace the maids were shouting (Ubi rie, Ubi rie) meaning Ubi leave, Ubi leave the palace.

A few months latter, Oba (King) Ewuare asked Ogieka to marry his second daughter Ewere to him because Ubi was not good to be his Queen. Ogieka agreed. According to the advice of an oracle, on the day Ewere was being escorted to the harem in the palace, the Oba (King) ordered the Ihogbe (the ward next to the palace) to join to escort her and the Osama (the high priests) to wait on her and honour her entry into the palace.

Ewere was led by the Ihogbe, dancing and singing. On entering the palace they sang the following song:-

Ewere de, kie n'Ewere

Ewere de, kie n'Ewere

Ewere de, kie n'Ewere

meaning; Ewere is coming open for Ewere with joy and celebration.

Gha kie o, Odibo gha kia aza

Gha kie o, Odibo gha kia aza

Gha kie o, Odibo gha kia aza

meaning; Who is opening the store? The steward is going to open the store house of gold for the queen

Food use to celebrate igue festival

The women in the harem danced for joy and the whole city was in festive mood. Gifts of all kinds were poured on Queen Ewere from all the chiefs and from all parts of the city. A lot of valuable gifts were sent to the Oba (King) from all parts of the kingdom the weeks following the marriage. This was about the end of harvest of new yams and the farmers and the entire kingdom were already in festive mood.

Unlike Ubi, Ewere acted humbly, respectfully and honourably. Peace, love, good health and prosperity prevailed in the harem and in the palace. The Oba (King), the women and the maids in the harem loved Ewere.

Throughout the reign of Oba (King) Ewuare the mystic and the great, every year, he celebrated the anniversary of happy and prosperous marriage to Ewere at the IGUE festival, by inviting people from all walks of life in his kingdom. Sacrificing goats, cows, leopards and few other animals offering kolanuts and coconuts to his head, wishing himself and his kingdom good luck for the following year.

In this celebration the chiefs and the people of Benin take part. Four days after the Oba's (King's) Igue festival everyone would celebrate Igue in individual house hold and collectively by ward.

Ugie-Ewere would take place on the fifth day at the palace. Food of all kinds are cooked and some display of supernatural powers are displayed by the high chief to command respect of the people and to show the Oba (king) that they were ready for any eventuality to defend the Benin Kingdom.

Ugie-Ewere, people dance with Ebe-Ewere ( lucky leaves). And since 1440 AD it had been a prayer of the Edos not to go on a journey on Ubi's day, only on Ewere's day. Ubi's day was the day of the week that Ubi was forced out of the palace. It was marked a bad day. Ewere's day was the day Ewere was escorted into the palace, it was marked a good and happy day. Hence the Edo people would like to travel on Ewere's day and hopefully travel as Ewere did, flawless and happy (Okhien-Ewere O).

Ugie-Ewere is still one of the most important celebration that the Oba (King) of Benin celebrates annually. The actual date is not fixed. The Oba (King) sets the date and is usually in late December of each year. But it starts on the day of the week when Ewere was escorted to the palace about 1440 AD.

  • If you wish to enjoy this traditional ritual of 1440 AD, visit Benin City in the month of December.

TASUED GET 420M FROM TETFUND GRANT

The vice-Chancellor of   Tai  Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has said that the university has secured about N420 million grant from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to provide Smart Classrooms and Micro-Teaching Laboratory and also teaching and learning equipment and resources in the institution.
He claimed TASUED will be the first institution to have such ICT facility in the country.
Arigbabu said this      on Wednesday at the 10th  Convocation Ceremony of the institution in Ijagun-Ijebu.
Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu
He also revealed that the university has got the nod of the state government to take-over and complete the on-going hostel project which was stopped about seven years ago.
Speaking at the convocation,  Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun   urged graduating students of   not to be used as thugs during the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
Amosun advised the  2,763  graduating students of the 2017/18 session to steer clear of ‘desperate politics’.
The graduands consist of 2,467, 177 and 79 graduates who finished their degree, Masters’ and Post-Graduate Diploma programmes respectively at the 13-year old university of education. About 23 of the graduands finished with first class honours.

Amosun who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa also urged striking university lectures to sheath their swords. He warned that the academic lives of the students should not be disrupted. “To please sheath their swords. We can have disagreements because we are human beings but we should always put the interests of our young ones as uppermost while we discuss these issues that you continue to agitate for.

“We should leave out work-to-rule as a tool of negotiation. Government is appealing to the staff and all concerned parties to please sheath their swords and let us return to help the community. We need peace in our campuses and progress to take Nigeria to that lofty heights that we want.

“The preparations for the forthcoming elections have begun, do not be tools in the hands of these desperate politicians. You are to get yourself engaged in meaningful and positive participation during the elections. An idle hand is the devil’s workshop so, engage yourself in positive activities during the elections,” Amosun said. Elizabeth Toyin Ajibode of the Department of Chemistry Sciences emerged Overall Best Graduating Student of the institution with 4.84 CGPA in the 2017/18 academic session.

PAIN OF LIFE

I look through the pain of life I see gain , though it seem not be easy but I use brain, and using the brain sometimes is not brave, so learn to wait.

I wait and try not to be in haste, as I wait my heart race, i was so afraid not to be late because if i am late my time waiting will be a waste, but I paste my thought on the praise to the most high to help me to win the race.

Hmm....  believe me Chris lose His weight in the race because I failed to train trying to catch up with the train and even though it rain i shake but I keep my pace while it rains, trying to catch up with the train, I was stained but I ignored the stain and focus on the gain , because the gain has all it takes to clean the stain.

But only to the people that endure the pain .

No pain, no gain , never Lost your gain to your pain. you have to keep running not to late because you have a train to catch even when you're not in haste.
Life is like a moving train we all journey trough it but to a different destination.
I pray we all get their safely and forget all our pain while rejoicing with the gain.

I look through pain and I see gain.
Look with your eyes and see with your heart.

I remain Chris.

FORMER PRESIDENT, JONATHAN MEET EX GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE

WARRI- FORMER President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan met with ex-governor of Delta State and All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta South senatorial candidate, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, weekend, in Warri, Delta State, few days after the former launched his book, “My Transition Hours.”
Good luck Jonathan
They met at First Baptist Church, Warri, during the nuptials between Dr. Oroghene Oghenejobo, daughter of the owner of FENOG, a major player in the nation’s oil industry and Mr. Oluwafemi Ologun.

Dr. Uduaghan, gunning for Delta South senatorial seat on APC platform in the 2019 general election, wanted to contest the position in 2015 against the incumbent Senator James Manager, but in deference to Jonathan, he bowed to the forces that were up against him.

It was not clear when both leaders met last, but Uduaghan, who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in August, was one of the very close allies of Dr. Jonathan until he lost power in 2015.

Uduaghan’s predecessor, Chief James Ibori, and other PDP leaders reportedly prevailed on Senator Manager to concede to Uduaghan, having served in the senate for practically 16 years, but he rejected all overtures.
"I won’t let you down, Urhoghide assures constituency."
Senator Manager, who will be contesting for fifth tenure in 2019, is of Ijaw extraction like Jonathan. He refused to step aside for Uduaghan even after the 2015 episode, one of the reasons the former governor decamped to APC.

Though Ibori did not want Uduaghan to leave the PDP, he because he desired a “bigger playing field,” he moved to APC.

Recently, when elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, spoke on the desirability of Central senatorial district (Urhobo) allowing the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to complete the eight -year tenure of  North senatorial district (Anioma) under an unwritten power rotation arrangement in the state, some Urhobo leaders charged at him, asking why he did not counsel Senator Manager to drop his ambition for other tribes in South senatorial district.
